PPI has three organs - the General Assembly, the Board of Directors and the Secretariat. The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the Institute, the Board makes policies and oversees management. The secretariat is headed by the Executive Director, who doubles as the chief executive officer of the organisation.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is elected by the General Assembly for a two-year renewable term of office. The Board is collectively responsible to firstly the organization and to all stakeholders for promoting success through provision of timely and effective oversight services in policy, governance, management and programme implementation pertaining to the Institute.
Dr. Wakida Patrick, Chairman
Dr. Wakida is a holder of a BA Economics (IUIU), Msc. Agroeconomics and Management (PLU), Mphil. Sociology of Development (Warwick) and PhD. Social Policy (Warwick). He has over 15 years of policy research, organisational management, programme implementation and Board governance experience. Dr. Wakida is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Research World International (http://researchworldint.net/)
Ms. Irene N. Kwaga, Member
Ms. Kwaga is a passionate and driven Ugandan lawyer with over 10 years working experience in programme design, management and implementation to advance the Rule of Law programming in Uganda. She has led and served on various Rule of Law projects targeted at fostering human rights and freedoms, expanding civic space, good governance, access to justice and informing policy, legal and institutional/structural transformation for public good and advancing social justice.
She currently serves as the Head of the Rule of Law Docket at the Uganda Law Society; a position she has held for 6 years. Previously, Ms. Kwaga worked with the International Law Institute – African Centre for Legal Excellence where she served in different capacities for 7 years as a Senior Special Projects Administrator, Programmes Attorney and Programmes Administrator. Ms. Kwaga holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University and is an alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP); a U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange program.
Mr. Bateeze Daniel, Member
Mr. Bateeze Daniel holds a Master of Business administration from Uganda Martyrs’ University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Makerere University. He holds demonstrable leadership skills having worked as the Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Employees’ Savings and Credit Cooperative Society for Civil Aviation workers from 2015 to 2016. He is currently Chairman of the same Board. Until March 2017, he was the President of the Uganda Aeronautical Information Service Officers’ Association, a position he held for two years. With several trainings in various aviation technical courses and with experience in aviation of over 9 years, he is currently in the field of Aeronautical Information Management for Air Navigation purposes at Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority.
Ms. Nalweyiso Rebecca Naome, Member
Ms. Nalweiso Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Laws (MUK) from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC). She is an advocate of the High Court and currently works with Uganda’s Inspectorate of Government.
Mr. Kibuuka Ambrose, Member
Mr. Ambrose Kibuuka holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Makerere University and a Master’s in Development Studies from Uganda’s Martyrs University. He is a practitioner in participatory training, consulting and research methodologies. He teaches governance and peace studies
